MaheenMaheen has shown her collections on over 40 runways from London, to Paris, Rome, and lately in Milam Fashion Week, where the Italian press dubbed her as the” Coco Channel of the east.” Her clients include royalty, celebrities and Hollywood stars. She created Benazir Bhutto’s signature look of a draped white dupatta. This is today the hall mark of every female politician, Maheen is a founder member and chairperson of Fashion Pakistan, a council of Fashion designers. Fashion Pakistan held the first fashion week in Pakistan in 2009. A consummate trendsetter and visionary, she launched her line over thirty five years ago and continues to set standards. In the eighties she revived the angrakha, put the spotlight on tailored shirts and capris. In the same decade she created the half sari which was promptly picked by the Indian Fashionistas.
